The sale of Turkish property to foreigners
restarted on Thursday after the enactment of a new related law,
following the release of a decree on the application of the new
bill. The new bill was adopted by Turkish parliament on July 3,
after Turkey's Constitutional Court temporarily invalidated a
provision of the law on the sale of real estates to foreign
companies and joint ventures on March 12. Sales restarted on
Thursday after the release of a decree on the application of the
new bill.
The new law enables foreigners to purchase real estate up to 10
percent of areas in the zoning plan, up to 2.5 hectares. The law
also authorizes the Council of Ministers to change the percentage
(not more than 10 percent), taking into consideration the
significance of towns in terms of infrastructure, economy, energy,
environment, culture and agriculture.
Relevant governmental organizations and governor's offices will
inform the Housing Ministry within 3 months about the total area of
real estate that will be available to be sold to foreigners.

Chairman of YAP-M Group Mr.TAN stated that there
were 680 registered estate agents in Didim. Mr TAN said, “If we
take the unregistered ones into account this figure comes over a
thousand.”
Mr.TAN warned the public of the unregistered estate agents and
asked them not to work with those for their own good. YAP-M Group
called people to inform the Tax Office of the pirate estate agents.
Mr.TAN also said that due to excess supply house prices had gone
down in Didim and those investors who took advantage of the
situation would profit in the future. “At present, it is possible
to find a double bedroom apartment for 45 thousand YTL in Didim.
Investors who put money in real estate will soon make profit
because I believe the prices will rise once again when the marina
is completed.”

Turkey's regulatory environment is extremely
business-friendly. You can establish a business in Turkey
irrespective of nationality or place of residence. The registration

The process is handled by one ministry which acts as the
coordinator between all authorities.
The first step in establishing a business in Turkey is to fill out
the "Business Registration Form" at the local Trade Registry Office
located at the local Chamber of Commerce.

• Submit the notarized 'Articles of Association'.
• Deposit 0.04% of the capital into either a State Bank or
the Turkish Central Bank.
• Complete the “Company Establishment Form” and register with
the Trade Registry Office.
International companies may start their activities in Turkey in
various forms depending on the investors' development strategies.

Two new Golf Courses proposed for
Didim |

A big increase in investment in Didim is
expected with confirmation that land has been allocated for two
18-hole golf courses and supporting facilities in the area.
The locations of the courses have been chosen and first-level
analysis done of the areas. One site is at Golludam, north of the
Didim-Akbuk road, further inland as you approach the 5-star
Caprice Hotel at Akbuk.
The other is on the seafront just across a
small bay from Yesilkent, at Mercimek, an attractive location
Altinkum boat trip veterans may be familiar with as many of the
tour boats stop there to serve lunch.
The proposals are for a 49 year lease and the Mercimek /Yesilkent
location would also include a 5-star hotel or combination hotel &
holiday village, with 420 bed capacity.
While investors have yet to be found for the courses, there are
rumours that a big Spanish golf resort company is interested in
at least one of the locations, and this is hardly surprising with
such a large and rapidly-growing expat community, not to mention
the coming marina at Didim with its influx of high-end tourism.

completed in 2009 and will cost around $50 million, revealed the
Doğuş Group statement.

Didim Marina Plans Revealed!

The design for the
623-berth yacht marina, which includes a heliport, customs and
special shopping centre, will cost $50 million and covers 282,000
m2.
The site lies between Third Beach and Parlementerler, to the west
of Altinkum and the marina, named Didim D-Marina, will be the
largest in the Southern Aegean, including Bodrum's 450-berth
site.
Construction is being carried out by Dogus Holdings, one of the
biggest organisations in Turkey, who will also have a 25 year
operating lease. Dogus also has interests in Volkswagen, Hyatt
Regency and Porsche, and also built the marina at Turkey's luxury
resort of Turgutreis. The website for this gives an excellent

Didim D-Marina signifies a new lease of life for the already
buoyant Didim region, as it will open up the area to a whole new
tourism market of yacht owners, gulet cruises, and tour boats as
well as winter boatbuilding and drydock services.
